State Classified Jobs on Campus
The University of Colorado Denver is a public university and positions are considered to be state classified positions unless they are exempted from the system by provisions outlined in the constitution and state statutes (e.g., faculty, research and others).
Appointments to these positions are based on merit and fitness as determined through a competitive assessment of job-related competencies. All applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, and experience will substitute for required education except where required by law. Only residents of the state of Colorado may apply for these positions. Colorado's constitution, and state law, requires each candidate be ranked (eligible veterans will receive preference points added to their final score) and that the top three scoring individuals will be referred to the hiring authority for a job interview.
These positions cover a wide variety of work and are grouped by 10 occupational groups. At our university we have jobs in 8 of those occupational groups and they include Enforcement and Protective Services, Financial Services, Health Care Services, Labor Trades and Crafts, Medical, Administrative Support and Related, Professional Services, and Physical Sciences and Engineering.
